At Apricus Counseling we seek to do psychological testing differently. No being rushed through a list

We provide psychological testing for both children and adults, tailored to the questions each client is bringing to us.

For children and adolescents ages 6 through 18, we assess for learning or developmental difficulties and behavioral concerns such as inattention or hyperactivity.

For adults, we offer testing for those seeking clarity around their own learning or thinking differences — whether that means navigating a new diagnosis or finally finding language for something you've sensed about yourself for years.

Each assessment includes a full set of tests measuring IQ, mood, adaptability, and executive functioning — formally known as a full psychological battery. Depending on the client's needs and clinical presentation, we may administer additional standardized measures for cognitive ability, adaptive functioning, attention, or academic achievement.

At the conclusion of testing, clients receive a comprehensive psychological report that can be used for school accommodations, workplace accommodations, medication management with a provider or personal understanding.

A full comprehensive IQ test
A full psychological battery
An executive functioning and adaptive skills assessment
A mood measurement
A full report appropriate for medication management as well as school or workplace accommodations, including 504 plans and IEPs
Follow-up resources, support, and referrals

Testing & Pricing

A full assessment totals 11–12 hours — including your first session, scoring, report writing, and a feedback session — for $1,600.

Fees

Because psychological testing produces documentation rather than ongoing treatment, it's offered as a self-pay specialty service — this is standard across most practices, since insurance typically doesn't cover the scope of work testing requires. This allows us to keep our approach personal and thorough, without our time or your results being dictated by insurance limits on hours or session structure.

If your clinician determines within the first hour that testing isn't clinically indicated, the session will end there, and the cost will be $150 for the consultation.

We offer payment plans for assessments over $500, and we're happy to provide paperwork so you can seek reimbursement directly through your insurance company. We're unable to file out-of-network claims on your behalf.
